What's Kin-EZY-ology

I find it fabulous to have people asking, 'What is Kinesiology?'

My brain automatically fills with so, so many explanations, I find it hard to know where to start...

I say, 'Its an energy healing modality'.. What I mean is, its based on the premise that there doesn't need to be a physical connection between two parts (body/mind) for it to be affected or effective.

So, Don't be surprised to find our your head is connected to your foot! Your Jaw to your pelvis, your eyes to your sciatic nerve.. the list goes on and on seriously!

I also say, ' It utilises muscle testing'... meaning its foundations are in the body's ability to 'talk' and be heard - the same foundation of our ancient therapies like Traditional Chinese medicine where weakness in a specific muscle/organ/gland can provide information about its function in relationship to the whole, and vice versa.

I say, ' It is both informational and transformational'.... meaning it can provide you with information about the patho-physiology(process of the body), psychology (of the mind), and spiritual nature of ourselves - and give you tools to make the changes you need, to feel like you.

The essence of our connection to our whole being, connects with an energy that is nothing but pure. So things I have witnessed in my relatively short career i have found nothing short of miraculous. This is not saying that I am a miracle worker - I am far from that! I am simply a tool with the skills and knowledge and spiritual connection I have that is willing to assist you.

A word on kinesiologists in general... Chiropractors do muscle testing and some learn applied kinesiology - if you get a 15min appnt - this is not kinesiology - Kinesiologists separated from the applied kinesiology with the fundamental difference being difference in opinion on the connection to the mind as opposed to the physical brain. So as a kinesiologist we practice with the knowing that our thoughts can change our physical body.. and vice versa. So hour appointments are the norm, and 2hr initial appointments.

Muscle testing is also not kinesiology, its also not a tool only used by kinesiologists, physios, chiro's, OT's, Osteopaths, naturopaths can (some) all muscle test - the difference is the interpretation that we apply to the result of the muscle test.. It's always wonderful when you get practitioners who will work with each other for your highest good, so always let each of your therapists know about each other - afterall, its for your wellbeing - not theirs!
